A Wakeout gift is a full year of Wakeout, bought once, with nothing to renew. Here is how to give one, and how to use one you received.
Giving a gift
Open Wakeout and go to Settings.
Under "Share the Joy", tap "Gift Wakeout".
Tap "Purchase Gift" and complete the purchase with Apple. The price is shown in the app, and it is lower than a regular year.
Share the code with your friend. A share sheet opens right after the purchase, with a short message and the download link.
Later, the same screen shows "Your Gift History": each code, who redeemed it, and its status (Pending or Redeemed). While a gift is Pending, tap the code to share it again. Gift codes do not expire.
Good to know before you buy
You can't redeem your own gift. A gift is made to be given away, so the account that buys it can't use it. Only a different Apple Account can redeem it. If you want Wakeout for yourself, choose a plan instead.
You can buy more than one gift, for different people.
A gift can't be shared through Apple Family Sharing. Family Sharing only covers plans bought through Apple. To give Wakeout to someone in your family, send them a gift code and they redeem it on their own account.
Redeeming a gift you received
Install Wakeout from the App Store and sign in.
On the plan screen, scroll down and tap "Redeem App Store Gift".
Type the code exactly as you received it and tap Redeem.
Your year starts as soon as the code is accepted.
Can't find the option, or the code is not accepted? Message us from the app (Settings, then "Get Help Now") with your code, and we will sort it out. We answer Monday to Friday.
If the code is not accepted
"This gift has already been redeemed by another user": a gift works once.
"Invalid gift code": check for a missing letter or digit. Copying and pasting the code usually helps.
"You cannot redeem a gift that you purchased": the gift has to go to a different Apple Account.
